I was pleased that Cam had nice 4th quarter drive - including the elusive TD pass in the red zone - for the go ahead score.

    It was a Delhomme-esque performance.

    Bring on Chicago.

Was good to see Cam struggle and get it done when it counted. Poise, confidence, intangibles... everything you want to see in a franchise QB

Cam Newton reminds me of Joe Montana

it happens more in college than in the pros, but its amazing how egregiously bad the decisions can be from these guys in the replay booths. No two crews see things the same way, and half the time they simply do not apply the rules as they should. Last week, Hoculi's crew calls a farily obvious Devin Hester touchdown down at the 2 inch line. His right foot hits the left pylon, and his right arm, carrying the ball, is clearly above his right leg and foot. Whatever, it got reviewed and should have been overturned as a touchdown. Yet Hoculi comes out and claims there is not definitive evidence to overturn. I guess there was no single camera angle showing the ball crossing the plane. And, honestly, I'm not surprised by this at all. In order to make definitive statements about things like this in 3-D space, one usually needs more than one 2-D projection of this higher dimensional 'manifold' to have any idea of whats really doing on, but I digress. I completely agree with the strict application of instant replay: only overturn calls that can be indisputably confirmed by replay. It sounds simple enough, but then again so does a multi-billion dollar empire ponying up for the services of full time referrees. The coaches in this league are getting squeezed from both sides...

There was no shot of his elbow or forearm touching the ground. The angle in which his arm was coming up sort of implied that his forearm had touched the ground, and I think that's what the ref was going off of. But that's not really "evidence". It's like finding a condom wrapper in your wife's purse, it implies something but proves nothing.

Someone mentioned that Byron Bell played well again, and it seemed that way to me. The Panthers might have lucked into a legit player with him.

seems so...hasn't been called out for anything that I remember...which can be a good thing for an OL.
