Don't let how great Smitty was blind you to how good Moore is getting. I'm pretty happy with his development, and hope he continues.

Not Smitty of course, but he doesn't need to be. Also, Smitty didn't really come into his own until his third year, and wasn't our #1 receiver until after Moose left. At the same stage in their WR career, Moore is ahead of where Smitty was and it's not particularly close. Smitty was better at returning punts though.

CJ, I think we`ll have to agree to disagree on Moore. I`m not saying he is bad, but the moment Smitty was allowed to play WR he was better than Moore is now.
You and B&B can shuck and jive all night and day, but Moore will never equal Smitty.
Moore is soft and that is something Smith has never been.

I don’t think we disagree at all on which one was better. I’m just saying that just because Smitty was an all pro does not mean Moore is not going to be good. You can’t really compare them, they’re different players.

B&B pointed this out earlier this week. I went back and looked at his track record at San Francisco / Michigan, compared the prior results in Michigan to his, did the same for San Francisco and also compared the post-Jim results as well.

* In the decade prior to Jim’s arrival to the 49ers: 46-82. Jim’s record with the 49ers: 44-19-1 (Three consecutive NFC championship appearances. Lead his team to one of the largest comebacks in championship game history at Atlanta. Also, overcame one of the largest Super Bowl deficits in history and came up a few yards short of a championship.)

The guy fucking wins football games. And, they are never soft. He’s a fucking alpha male, and David Tepper wants a fucking alpha male. But he’s all substance, as well. This is the complete opposite from the Steve Spurrier hype. This is a legitimate winning NFL coach. God fucking dammit fucking do it fuck fuck fuck.

 

If Reid sticks around, it better be as a linebacker or a true strong safety. I can't continue to take this franchise seriously if we keep letting him stand flat footed at the deep third of the field.
