With us waking up in the 4th quarter and Atlanta Giving us a TD and Carr playing like a vet we got a win.

    We have Zero defense.

I'm happy to get a win but man, that defense made Joey H look like Joe Montana. No pass rush at all. TB's going to be a challenge next week...

awesome win! Sorry I couldn't make the game thread. I was just coming back from Bald Head Island and was listening in on WBT1110 which has a strong signal up 95 through Richmond. :auto:

    from the ESPN recap -
    >>>"Harrington had one of the best games of his career, completing 31 of 44 passes with no interceptions and only one sack. That was huge improvement over his first two games, which were marred by a pair of interceptions returned for touchdowns and 13 sacks."<<<

the W is great but losing Jake is HUGE, especially if it's a ligament

what the hell is going on with our D? To me it continues to look like guys are not thinking fast enough in coverage, and I got nothin' when it comes to our so-called pass rush

yup, judging by the last couple of weeks, I'm smelling the wrong end of an ass whoppin next week

I just got in from Atlanta...I bet that game looked even uglier on TV than it did live. That whole game was ugly except for Foster and King.

I still can't believe we made "Joey" look that good.

I have to give it to the Falcons fans for filling up the Dome pretty well for a home opener after a 0-2 start and having "Joey" behind center. But that crowd was flat-at least until about the third time they stopped us on defense. But even then, it only got loud sporadically. Normally that place is buzzin for at least half the game when we play down there.

The camera work on the Jumbotron was atrocious - they maybe showed 10 replays all game.

The NFC South hasn't looked this weak in a long time, if ever. Granted, I figured it would take about 6 weeks before we saw what Carolina and Atlanta could put together with new offenses, but so far this year, there's new meaning to the phrase "The Dirty South." Tampa's defense and Jeff Garcia look to be playing the best in the South right now. Unbelievable.

Seemed like there were a lot more white people at this game. Is that true?

Maybe a little more....I'd say at least 60-70% black from where I was sitting in the upper deck.

I saw alot of Vick jerseys...I thought about some dog jokes, but didn't want to deal with the crap.

I haven't been to the Georgia Dome since '96. There was NOBODY there. This was back in the "I'm Jeff George, So Fuck You June Jones" days. It was like being at a food court on a Monday morning.

And we lost that fucking game.

I quickly ran through the game again and noticed some things.

Thomas Davis stood out and played well especially in the 1st half. There was one play where he and Morgan were blitzing and the Falcons had the screen on, perfect call, but Davis came back flying and nailed Norwood. He came close to deflecting a few passes. It looks like he's getting the hang of it and hopefully we'll start to see the dividends.

Chris Harris sucks at special teams. Norwoods both runs came to his side. The first one that was called back he apparently thought someone else had the ball, and Norwood just ran right by him. The 2nd one was less his fault because he was the only one on that side of the field. It was wide open. He did look good in run support, something we knew he could do. If he's gonna suck in coverage at least he'll make a tackle ( *cough* Manuel).

As far as Peppers goes, he seems to just be trying to bull rush the OT most the time, he hasn't been getting a great jump, although they don't ask him to be a Freeney and just accumulate sacks.

King needs to learn to pass block better.
    Hoover dominated Demorio Williams.
Foster bitched Milloy a few times.
    Abraham owns us
