They thought enough of him to start him strong side when injuries forced Boulware to DE.

I'm not going to be so presumptious as to say that linebacker won't be a need but if they can't scrape one together between Jackson, Towns, and Navies, shame on them. The weakside spot, sure, leave that to be a building block. But Other than that we should be allright at linebacker now.

I mentioned this last night and it went nowhere so I'll say it again..... What about Warrick Holdman of Chicago? I know he'll want starters money but I like what he could bring over Mark Fields.... which was the topic of conversation last night.

He'll be too expensive IMO. Hell of a player, but he'll be hard to bring in and even harder to find the money for.

I think we're done dealing in FA at OLB, we'll look to get a playmaker in the draft.

I think Holdman really wants to stay in Chicago, and he is a starter so why wouldn't he require that kind of money.
I agree, LB needs to be addressed in the draft. Unless we get a gem for the price of a pebble of sand.

Doesn't it suck that we are still cap-strapped?

I think next year looks alot better for us cap wise with some of the cuts this year. At least I hope we are :)

Doesn't suck when we can get a guy like Jackson at $450k.

Next year should be better...Gilbert will be cuttable, our only real concern in FA might be Rucker, unless Jackson blows up as a starter. We'll have some big contracts like Moose and Steussie, but they should be able to be held as they are rather than renegotiated.

    Pasq gives us props

ESPN's Len Pasquarelli actually likes this signing, and notice it's before the whole Fields thing (which should garner some more praise about Jackson's value):

    This is good.

Unless we make a small move for Davis, I think we may be done in FA before the draft. I'd go ahead and sign him if we can.

We can then be in a position to see who we can get, and then fill around our holes and shore up depth.

probably done, and it's possible Smith doesn't come I imagine.

But it's something, if there had been nothing at all between March 1 and the draft that woulda been hell.
