Here she blows. Hurney and Co. notch up Cousin.

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Carolina Panthers have added more help for their secondary. According to league sources, Terry Cousin, the Dolphins' No. 3 cornerback last season, agreed to a four-year contract worth about $5 million. He is expected to be given a chance to start for the Panthers, who signed cornerback DeRon Jenkins last week.

Cousin (5-foot-9, 181 pounds), who played at South Carolina, had 50 tackles and two sacks last season.

Also, the Panthers have talked with free-agent quarterback Rodney Peete's agent about signing him to back up Chris Weinke. According to sources, a deal could be reached this week.

Offensive coordinator Dan Henning coached Peete for two seasons (1992-93) in Detroit. Peete, who turned 36 Saturday, was a starter early in his career. He backed up Oakland's Rich Gannon the past two seasons, appearing in one game.

    QCH you gotta link?

If this is true have to wonder about Rashard. Looks as if he'll have to earn his starting job.
Man if anyone needed a sign that we aren't going CB early in the draft well here it is, looks more and more like D-Line, whether Peppers or not who knows(it looks like Peppers).

  3. Hmmmmm. Is it just a coincedence that this story is about a Cock and a Trojan?

  4. I want to know who leaked the story?

    Pregnant pause...

I think this idea was solid from conception, and should really improve our protection - especially from vertical penetration.

You know, if we get Rodney Peete, his wife will come to town too. All the kids in the high schools will have to look out because there'll be a new narc in town.

Let's get up, down on JUMP STREET!!!!!!:bouncing:

I dunno about that. You got two career nickels here...IMO the idea here is that there's still hope for a long term corner to be brought in to start across from Rashard. Cousin starts off starting, Jenkins is a short term nickel.
