Morgan played most of the first quarter and looked good.

Does our running game look different that it did against NYG? I recall a LOT of cutbacks against NYG but vs. PHI and NE it looks like we're running the same style we did last year.

This is probably my imagination though.

    Positives

    -Beason looked good.
-Morgan looked decent in limited action.
    -Colbert making a play.
-Jake made some good throws on the move.
-Carter came back and made a few good catches.
-Our TE's have improved this year.

    Negatives

Pretty much everything else, but specifically:

-Our special teams are bad beyond words.
-On the blocks, they pretty much forced their way in, but Kasay is kicking the ball too low.
-The offensive line played poorly, again.
-Quite frankly, McClover sucks against the run.
    -Moorehead sucks all around.
-Lucas is playing timid. Not good. Need to see that attitude back.

I'm glad the preseason doesn't matter, but I'd sure like to see us play better against Pittsburgh. Fox better bust some fucking heads this week.

Some. We're still doing lots of cut backs, to the point that I'm actually worried about Foster and Williams looking for that too often instead of just taking what's there. But we definitely spent the last two weeks working on our typical sweeps and such, so it did look familiar.

    Also:
    * Carter never catches anything with his hands. It's either a body catch or a drop.

    * Hangartner nearly got pancaked on the first FG block.

    * Crossman is a problem that should have been fixed, and we'll end up paying for it.

    * Lots of drops, not only from Carter but King, Smith, and DeAngelo.

    * Our LBs and safeties will appear in the 2008 Guinness Book of World Records for worst pass defense.

    * Gamble gets turned around pretty easily, but he'll make a tackle. Maybe the safety idea is legitimate.

    * Even with the first team defense we got no pass rush whatsoever.

    * Morgan looked pretty good.

anywhere I lay my head I'm gonna call my home
plus other than the drop, I thought Carter did OK from then on
King started catching a ball instead of dropping it
running game looked solid against a good D
Beason was first team and didn't look all that lost (but made mistakes)
D looked very average but was playing a lot of throwaway 3-4 stuff

    no injuries
Davis looks very active this year
Jarrett finally got a couple balls
we have 3 solid RB already (and it looks like other than Hoover we've weeded out the FB crowd)

besides the awful ST play, I thought the QBs were overall somewhat accurate but didn't do much at all downfield besides a couple plays. We can't throw to the crossing fullback but so often.

I was also disappointed in the couple plays Lucas got picked on. No way he should be doing that - it sucks, but you expect that from Gamble. You shouldn't have to see that from Lucas, and I hope I don't again.

I don't remember seeing Charles Johnson other than on one KR, he was on the second level. I saw McClover, Ball, Grigsby. I could be wrong.

I did see a lot of the same zone stuff we did against NYG, and yeah, we did it against Philly too. It's a lot harder to bend back a counter play when a team's penetrating all over the line, though.

I paid $13.50 for two Bud Lights at the 4 min mark of the 2nd quarter after my brother in law bought the first round. Tomorrow evening I'm paying $25 for my choice of as much as I can possibly stand of any or every of 250 different beers. Fun contrast.

Jonson was out there I thought briefly. Was it just me or did Jarrett just jog into the endzone on that one pass to him? Was he not expecting it to come his way? Everyone in our area seemed to agree with me.

Peppers may not be feeling 100% yet - he motioned to come out several times and the last time (at least I didn't see him on the field after that time) he was on a knee for a LONG time drinking fluids and though no one was "hovering", a few trainer type folk leaned around him for a bit and one of the "drink guys" stayed near him until halftime.

Morgan was very active and I thought the first few series when he was in, our D looked much sharper. There for a while it was punting on both sides and I thought it might be a good game, then it died. I didn't think we were as HORRIBLE as last week, but not saying we were good at all. The motto of the very few departing crowd when we left (stayed to the end and I'm working today!) was "Just how bad are the Giants?"

The Giants suck about as badly as the Panthers considering the teams were a few points appart the entire game.
