that's how we roll. The problem is, trying to mention that means that something I thought hours before, on something that someone else took issue with, wasn't something I was actually thinking because I'm just trying to get out of saying something I still believe. :balloon:

You mean like the stats that prove he hasn't been active? I have facts to support my position, you do not. And again, my "ranting" is the same position as plenty of others like hasbeen while you have absolutely no one supporting your own point of view. At minimum that means your attempts at dismissing my concern are dubious.

Also, I really miss the "blah blah blah" smiley.

    Mongo:
It's not a matter of semantics. What this really goes back to is the old SLB argument where I felt like Thomas Davis wasn't strong enough to be well suited there, while magnus claimed it would be his best fit. Magnus is already embarrassed about saying initially that Thomas Davis would be fine at safety and now doesn't want to be wrong about him at SLB, so he pretends to see Davis being active and making plays when he isn't. Of course, it would be easy for him to dismiss my opinion as biased just as I am dismissing his, except that everyone who has commented one way or the other agrees with my take while no one agrees with his. Plus, of course, the stats support my view as well.

When Morgan is out of the picture, we should move Beason inside and Davis weakside, and go find a bigger, taller strongside player. I know the issue of weight and upper body strength has been beaten to death, but now I'm really concerned that his height is just as big of an issue. Maybe even more of an issue. Sometimes it seems like he has trouble reading the play on that side of the formation.

Fuck, we have Diggs. Can't he do it?

relevant would be stats talking about him getting blocked, since that was your own criteria for success. Relevant would be breaking down tape, since you (very reluctantly, without detail) did note one play. I broke down tape, one quarter's worth. You?

I didn't claim it would be his best fit. I said he could fit there as well, and that his natural position was strongside in college. Of course, just like this, you pounced on this because you thought I made a mistake, so you wanted to make me pay for doing so.

Nope. I was fine with both statements. Also, I was proven correct by Fox putting him there after being repeatedly berated for saying so, to the point you personally insulted me and my family for it. I'm not at all ashamed about any of it, though I would've liked for him to have played safety. I'm also fine with whatever spot fits Davis best at this point, but he's not being asked to fit a plugger OLB role. For the hundredth time, that is, he's not being asked to take up space. I'd like him to make more plays, and I didn't like seeing him being blocked on contain, but he's not going to be asked to do so.

Now whether you're allright with Davis at SLB, or still have issues with that, isn't up to me, and certainly, every single time we've brought up Davis at SLB, there's been a problem between us. Let me remind you that I said Davis was active, you took that to mean something different from my intent, and that's what started this. The whole time you've tried to pawn it off on my issue and tried to show some consensus on the idea.

Except I didn't say he was making plays.

I'm not opposed to it, but I'm not for it either. If we want to do that, and it leaves us with Anderson at SLB, we're worse off. If we decide we want someone to take up space, and go get that player, then that's fine, but that's not the reason we put Davis out there.
Fox LBs are short. I don't like it either, but it's just what we like. Beason was another one, just no height. I wish it meant we were faster or more rangy overall, but I haven't seen that on the field with any of our guys. We've never drafted a 4.4 LB, though the company line was that Morgan runs that. We still stop the run with that issue, though I think height would make us a better matchup situation in coverage.

I've seen that, but I haven't seen him have trouble because he had a guard in his face. I haven't seen that happen that often.

SLB? Never has. Diggs isn't a dynamic player, and regardless of what any of us bellow or dickwag about Davis,
