Wesley will be the starter over Hawkins. Hawkins is going to play the nickel. Manning did not start on opening day last year and we know how weak Cousin was.

I think they hold Wesley in pretty high regard or they would not have played things this way.

I honestly paid a lot of attention to Hampton and Wesley last year (when they were on the field- and watched every game numerous times because I taped them all (had this feeling- never taped them till last year). Anyway, Hampton didn't get a lot of PT during the season last yr, but he looked sharp in preseason.

Anyway, I don't think they're gonna really suck. Maybe not be word-class, but not suck either.

Kinda sounds like our secondary last year, huh?

hawkins I was kidding about, but really I wouldnt care to see a Rookie starting at CB on opening night. The way it worked out for Manning was great with him getting to come in for an injury replacement because there wasnt nearly as much pressure on the kid and he responded well. A rookie CB is a pretty tough position to be a starter in with the speed of the Pro wideouts and the complexity of the new defense the kid has to learn...I'll take my chances with Wesley or Hampton or whoever it is.

I hope you are right about Wesley. Maybe he was coming on strong late in the year, but they didn't want to do anything midstream. I'm a little intrigued with the idea of Wesley at FS.

Even if the rookie doesn't start, he still needs to get his feet wet.

that wasn't me being an ass... it was me reading what I wrote and in context if you didn't know who they were they could have easily been WRs for the Packers.

I wasnt trying to be an ass either. I don't watch much college ball, but I do try to keep up with the draft prospect to a degree so to say do I know who they are? Yeah I know they are very good college corner backs that depending on who you talk to will go between the 15th overall to about the 40th overall. The Mock I last saw had Strait going 19th and Poole going like 35th overall or something like that. Anyway, I know who they are.

Now I will say again I (personaly) would not like to see a rook CB starting opening night. :xyzthumbs
