2:51 PT: The Gaston Gazette reports Carolina Panthers CBs Terry Cousin and DeRon Jenkins are currently working as the starters at cornerback. However, neither is a lock to win a starting job this year.

20:50 PT: Len Pasquarelli reports for ESPN.com the Carolina Panthers were using rookie DE Julius Peppers at left defensive end during this weekend's mini-camp. Peppers claimed after his first mini-camp that he is looking forward to the challenge of learning the new position, and of silencing the skeptics. "He's more physical than people realize and his quickness, everyone knows about that, so we think he's going to be fine (at left end)," said defensive line coach Mike Trgovac.

18:47 PT: According to Panthers.com coach John Fox said rookie DE Julius Peppers, rookie RB DeShaun Foster and rookie TE Keith Heinrich stood out at the team's mini-camp that ended earlier Sunday.

22:52 PT: The Gaston Gazette reports Carolina Panthers rookie RB DeShaun Foster is expecting to give RB Lamar Smith a run for his money as the the team's starting running back. Foster arrived at mini-camp this weekend second on the team’s depth chart at RB, but the Panthers made it clear that isn’t set in stone. "We really don’t have an established, featured runner yet," Panthers running backs coach Jim Skipper said. "So in essence, the job’s wide open. After you get through preseason and all that, then we’ll have an idea."

Interesting mention about the new TE. Anybody watching the camp get a chance to see the guy?

not I, but I do remember remarking about him and notng him as a good pick. Really liked him and Terry Jones Jr. at TE.

I never saw him do anything. I saw one guy on Friday make a TD, I thought it was mangum though.
