We can move up a few spots with 2 losses to end the season. I hate to lose but sometimes you have to lose a battle to win a war

"We'll be giving Chris Weinke a shot to start to evaluate him better." - John Fox

    ...Translated... "we're gonna tank it"

We moved up a bit today, or closer to up. Chicago and Minn won.

We could easily be in the top five.

it's hard to tank it and still seem as if you want to win for the players. Weinke is a mess, he's gone into shell shock. Fasani still has those running dreams that puppies have, and when you're already running a net first half yardage of 0 it's hard to put a QB with rating of 0 in and justify it as anything at all.

I bet Fox fires all 3 of them.

Weinke has really, really really gotten worse.

Weinke has won 1 NFL game in which he has started or played. I don't know if he is trying too hard or what but he was a hellva lot better college player than pro so far. He couldn't hit a greyhound bus on a crossing pattern right now. I don't know what happen to his ass?

One thing I am sure of...
The QB that takes the Panthers to the Super Bowl isn't on the roster. If Fasini was the answer - he would be playing before Weinke right now. If Palmer, Leftwich, Manning or Ragone (in that order) are available in the first - I think Fox and the Cats will take'm. Peete will be back next year too IMO.

the shoulder injury screwed his already inconsistent accuracy, which was livable before. Now it's not.
plus reading a defense backwards thanks to the WCO has all but screwed his reading. Luckily, Dan Henning's offense consists of standing there wide-eyed, rather than reading.

Shocker. Weinke could hit a greyhound bus, as long as he can one-hop it.

Peete's not really very good, he just looks that way in comparison.

And the thing is, I really like, in the draft, guys like Gesser and Banks, but they are an ill fit for us. They are west coast guys. We have to have a guy with an arm enough to threaten people in this offense.

Yea, I agree. Actually a guy like Ragone fits here well. I swallow hard when I say that - but he has the tools and can buy time back there. I like the guy as a person and I still think he can be a starting QB for a very good team. Question now is will we even get the chance to draft him??? Beat Chicago and it might be NO.

Absolutely not, that would be the most fucked up thing this franchise could do this year. We are still playing pretty damn good defense and most of the post game shows have made comments about how John Fox has this team playing tuff.

Yes our offense sucks. But here is my latest wild ass prediction. (I have not read the board since early Sunday morning so if this has been said, my apologies)

QB #1 - Kordell Stewart (Per Dan Marino) ;)
    QB #2 - Rodney Peete
QB #3 - Randy Fasani - I believe the folks that scouted him and brought him here this year still believe he is a project, but one worth keeping. Its obvious his more of a gamer than Stinky Winky.

No, if this franchise is going to build anything, ever, it must go with a "win out" mentality. Put your best game on the field these last few weeks. I firmly believe that is more important than moving up a few slots...
