I dont think sarcasm counts as a hissy fit. It must have flew over you. It was only making fun of your comment which neither address the argument, nor adressed the issue of going out of your way to say Branch sucks and making outrageous claims to try and support a weak argument.

If you say Branch sucks donkey balls three times fast maybe your wish will come true.

Could you show me some examples from that argument?

It counts as a hissy fit. You tried a poor comeback and it just showed the emotional investment you've got in the guy. I didn't even mention Branch outright sucked until your hissy, actually. I suggested that some had noted that Minter was covering up Branch and that was part of the reason it had looked like Minter was losing a step.

And that just outright wasn't acceptible, you weren't having that shit. You were gonna argue that away.

If you snap at somebody for suggesting that one possibility out of three considers your favorite player isn't perfect, maybe they'll relent and Branch will grow magic angel wings and learn how to break on a ball (or tackle, or have NFL-level instincts, or find a way to get out of another player's way when said player is trying to actually tackle).

Why? didn't matter when we were actually arguing it, either.

3 INT, 8 PD, 43 solo tackles. Sounds to me like he made a lot more positive plays then negative. And definately brought more to the table than Deon Grant did this year. Upgrade. Now if you want to upgrade more and bring in more depth thats fine, but you cant really say Branch sucks.

please. Branch came up with another pick, and we're all really happy for him, but in no uncertain terms he's not an upgrade. By your rationale, Doug Evans deserved NFL defensive player of the year for his 8 meaningless interceptions in 2001.

Poor comeback? You mean like a womens period? I never took a shot at you until then. I just disagreed with your statement.

Damn straight. I dont like the spread of false rumors.

I'll give you credit for this. ALthough saying somebody is solid is different than perfect. And by the way Branch is not my favorite player.

Probably because it exists as much as your facts about minter covering up for branch.

You were ready to throw down. You saw the words "colin branch" and were therefore ready to argue. It's physically impossible for someone to say his name in a non-pleasing light without it bothering you.

You called him an upgrade for having stats worse than any Grant had in the same uniform.

allright - now let's try not to go apeshit the next time he's mentioned, and then it might be believable.
"out of nowhere he swoops, dashing in from the shadows to rescue the sullied name of his fair maiden, Colin Branch."

Actually, you're right. It was another belligerent, stuck-on-a-point curmudgeon with a crush and a grudge who tried to pick a fight on that one. My apologies. Hey, blind squirrel. But that doesn't change the facts of the argument above, back when you were arguing more than flailing.

As a matter of fact, that's a good representation of CB. Blind squirrel.

Not at all true. Have I not said he played terrible the first 4 games, needs to improve on his angles & tackling, and was out of position. I also admit that his game against the Saints was terrible too. But after those first four games he was making plays and breaking on the ball very well. We had several Branch sightings and he made plays. Imagine that.

We are talking about now. And this year there stats are similar. Not the same player at all. Grant is a lot more aggressive and gets burnt a lot more, but has more tackles, unfortunately not more INT or PD. Minter is aggressive enough for the secondary.

Been able to do that till now.

Do you have a crush on Grant? I guess so, using your "logic."
"He swoops in editing his post because he just remembered something clever 10 minutes later and has to post it. Forgetting he defends players like Grant to the death in the same way or even worse. "

    Another? Notice a pattern?

Making that statement about our so called RB argument makes me wonder what other things you post before thinking or finding out if it is true.

Give Branch another year or two. Grant did not start playing well on a consistent basis til 2003

You seemed to take offense at the mere mention of Branch. Should logic have been your main goal, that wouldn't be the result.

I'm sure elsewhere, but you haven't really done that here. You've called him an upgrade, which even by your criteria, that argument hasn't been made well.

And no, he's not been making plays and breaking on balls. That's a fallacy. Once every 3-4 games, sure, you'd see him do something good, then you'd see him do his regular bad. And then you'd not see him again.

So completely different situations are a much better record of comparison than being in the exact same position? Interesting. I guess whatever fits what you need.

And of course, by that logic, Branch is a better player than Minter, too.

I dunno about that. We've had this argument a number of times now, and it always starts out the same. I say something about Branch sucking, you get huffy, we argue.

I didn't bring him up. I didn't attempt to compare him first. I didn't give a shit what Grant did here this year because he wasn't here. Others brought it up, and only because there's not enough actual argument for Branch himself. It won't stand on its own legs, nor will the suggestion that he's solid or that he's an upgrade.

yes, just as Grant was the only person ever to get burnt, I'm the only guy who's ever had to deal with more than one guy get a little pissy over time because he keeps getting told he's wrong over the internet about something he's invested himself emotionally.

Of course, because it's convenient for you to call anything whatever you feel. You have full ability to go back and check anything you want - I looked and noticed I'd made a mistake. You and this other goober are both of the same writing style, delirious tenacity, and overall pissiness, so it blended together. I can't remember which of you has a crush on who, though. I just know it's blind defense of whatever they're barking about.

I'm sorry you don't have anything to actually bring to the argument anymore. Let me know when you get something, allright?
