Colin Branch sucks royal goat testicles. In the last game when Deuce McAlister ran that long ass run, Branch was right there, didn't even get a hand on him, cost us like sixty yards. I remember yelling at #28 in a drunken fashion after I saw that replay. That's just one example, Branch sucks ass, I don't care how many interceptions he or the entire secondary had.

Saying Colin Branch doesn't suck is like saying Larry Brown deserved the MVP in Super Bowl XXX.

Quote me some of those huge blown coverages in 2001.

Meanwhile, yes, I can remember a lot of things that Gamble released behind him where there just wasn't a safety there to contest the pass. There was one to come in and make an awful attempt at a tackle a few times, sure. And the fun thing is, for the criticism over Grant's tackling form, Branch is worse at that, too. The guy isn't in his zone as much as you'd want, he's lacking any instinct in said zones, doesn't make plays on the ball, and just outright disappears from games all the time.

He's the weak link and needs to be replaced. No less will help us.

Tons of broken runs to that side all year. San Diego? LT made Branch his personal bitch. Right now, LT could call Branch's cell, the guy would piss himself and turn the ringer off.

It's not like a good FS would keep RMJ from getting burned like Fred in his afterlife, but it would certainly help.

Can I not put up a reasonable argument without being called sensitive? The only player that got more undeserved criticism was moose until this year. Not much people can say now. And I suspect the same to be said same time next year about Branch. If writing out lame jokes you stole from some middle school kid helps your argument go ahead. Maybe while we are at it we can find some way to pin blame on Branch for breaking Smiths ankle and Rosinski getting fired.

Well, being able to put a FS out in a true centerfield rather than a third or a quarter would help Minter cover RMJ's ass a little more, and said FS wouldn't hurt Gamble's burnt ass either.

Branch has good form tackling, but was out of position and made bad angles to the ball carrier on a few plays he should have made this year.

I wouldn't say that Branch doesn't deserve the criticism. He was simply non-existant for games in a row, and when he was seen, it was as often for not mitting a ball thrown directly at him or finding a way to send a gift fumble out of bounds without gaining posession.
    Or missing a tackle.

Of course, I wouldn't say "God forbid anybody say Colin Branch doesnt suck", in a huff, and then stomp away from the computer with a tear in my eye, either. I mean, you were able to laugh at my suggestion that our RBs are over worked, but you couldn't put down a real argument to that, either.

    Yep.
I can't remember the last time a Panther had 40 tackles and started all of his games. There were years where Minter could rack up 40 tackles in five games.
Even Grant averaged 60 tackles here.
