Panthers' Jenkins to play in Pro Bowl

    HONOLULU -- Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Kris Jenkins will play in Sunday's Pro Bowl. Jenkins, who had been a first alternate, was elevated to the roster Wednesday evening according to an NFL spokesman.

    Jenkins will replace Tampa Bay's Warren Sapp, who withdrew from the game due to a knee injury.

    Jenkins is expected to practice with the NFC squad on Thursday morning.

    Jenkins made the NFL's All-Pro team and had seven sacks for the Panthers last season.
