I agree that he needs to stake a claim this season. Last season was his rookie season, and he played hurt with a shoulder that limited his biggest physical asset, his arm. But this isn't a patient league. I'm not saying playoffs or bust, because we ain't that talented. But better, more efficent play. That way we can go out and get better skill players instead of wasting a pick and cap space on another QB.

    >>Foster/Smith
Smith will be the guy until Foster takes it from him. Optimim would be the way San Fran used Barlow last year. That way Smith stays fresh, and we get to develop and see what Foster has

Johnson/Hoover - Agreed this is the real competition. Johnson may take the job, but I imagine we will see a good bit of action.

TE - Will anyone step up behind Walls? All moaning about his moaning aside, he's all we really have, and he looked better than I thought he would last year, coming off an injury. We will see how he does again.

WR - I think we all want to see Smith step up. Mason isn't bigger at all, and he's been effective for the Titans. Moose needs a better year. He's the only guy that gets consistantly open, that big and physical enough to do the tough work. And he has been that guy. He just needs to make the catches he should and can make. Byrd is a competent #2 for now. Not expecting a great deal from Jeffers, but he's an X factor.

The defense is simple. The FA additions are at best role players. Giblet is largely and afterthought. It's these young high draft picks that must become impact players in a hurry, and I mean Morgan, Peppers, Jenkins, Grant, and Rucker, or we will be a very bad defensive team again.

I forgot to mention Rucker. I kinda think he's already there, hope that's not too optimistic.

I'm starting to have a really good feeling about Foster. I wouldn't be one bit surpised if he wins the starting job in camp. You've gotta wonder how long before a 32 year old running back goes down.

I SO want a 1200 yard rusher, and a sack hungry, blitz happy defense. Please let it happen.

    mini camp is tomorrow.

If you do, get 2. It would make a nice FF trouphy.

  4. I'm pretty sure you can get Fred and Builder to do that for ya.

  5. Are you going to camp today, Meat??
