Easy now guys, let the retard catch up. We are about 100k under the overall cap. Right? Signing the rookies doesn't affect this cap until the final 53. Right or wrong? If wrong, then, do we have to stay under the overall cap all the time, including rooks?

well, chances are that only the first three will affect the top 51 as of yet, since the 4-7 salaries will be less than of last year's picks while they're in their second year, and that dominoes on up.

So that does affect the rook cap but not the salary cap, yet. It would affect the final 53 only positively - the 4 thorugh 7 picks would be the cheapest possible players to put in on the top 53 and two rooks can fill in on the cap space left by cutting one minimum level vet.

Okay the 3or 4 rooks bump 3or 4 more expensive players off the top 53.This clears more money automatically. Then depending on the size of the contracts for Pepper and Foster, will depend on how far we have to go up the veteran chart for the money.

This is kinda interesting in that if Peppers is a possible holdout we cannot risk cutting Jay W until after the signing.

That's an interesting thought. We can't cut Williams until Peppers signs because we need Williams in case Peppers is a holdout. But, we can't sign Peppers unless we cut or restructure Williams.

I've wondered why Williams' restructuring isn't a priority since it would clear cap room. Think the Panthers are just stringing him along until they can let him go? I would hate to see them do something that nasty after all the "love" they professed for him back at the last camp.

I would like to keep Buckner. Richardson and Tuten wouldn't be big loses. Jeffers might not ever be the same again and Navies can be cut only if Witherspoon has looked great. We won 1 damn game last yr and we have no cap space. WTF.
