i'm speaking of current players, so mantle doesn't count.

soriano was bought because the yankees payed the most for him so he really doesn't count either. he was a highly touted free agent from japan (i think it was japan) who the yankees outbid everyone for. see matsui as well.

other than jeter, posada, mariano, and bernie name another one of their players who have came through their farm system.

4 players in 15 years does not make you a good farm system. they let other teams draft and groom players and then buy them later. i wasn't saying the guys you mentioned have no talent (well, except for ledee), i was just saying that the yankees don't grow talent, they buy it.

THe year the Braves beat the Indians in the World Series it was like a Triple AAA rematch one year later - the Knights big rival the year before that World Series was the Richmond Braves - those were some great games that season. Ramirez and Thome were awesome for the Knights then one year later I was pulling against them when they played Atlanta.

And Franchise is right about all that great Yankee talent coming through Greensboro. In the early 80s it was Don Mattingly playing for the Greensboro Hornets - man he ate up single A pitching that season.

granted, its not like a Braves farm system, but for being Single A, it isn't that bad.
