The Academy would like to .....

...Congratulate Josh Powell. the guy went the route of others before him, listened to bad advice and went undrafted. Now he can't return to school, because he didn't go back before the deadline. Hope the NBDL doesn't fold, or you like Italian food (as in playing overseas). I hate when people give a kid bad advice and then the kid falls for it and it blows up on him. I like Josh. He's a good kid. The people around him should be slapped for letting him flush it like that.

If he didn't sign with an agent can't he wait a year and re-enroll somewhere?

yes but he loses a total of 2 years elligability.... he has to sit a year to re-enroll and then sit a transfer year... I guess he could enroll and walk on somewhere and save a year... but that's really all I can think of.

Common sense should've told the guy he'd go undrafted. He isn't that good.

He's inconsistent. He needs to learn how to play with his back to the basket. I watched him as a freshman when I went to State, he's showed some sparks and he can be tenacious at times but he still doesn't have the body a la his counterpart Chris Wilcox.

he may have had some bad advice, but on radio and in newspapers they all said he should have stayed in school. He struggled at the draft camps(which should have been a red light) I did hear that his family needs money, and if that is the case he was just trying to do what he could. much like William Avery did a few years ago.
