yeah, I guess it depends which RPI you use. I usually go to that www.teamrankings.com gotta be careful there and look under "RPI" on the left column, and not their own "power ranking" which pops up first.

    Metro, check out kenpom.com

I believe the A10 can make up the small difference between us and the MWC with the addition of Charlotte and Saint Louis. Plus, the MWC is looking to expand for football purposes, and that will lower its RPI.

That is the fault of the local media, people in RI know marquette, depaul, Xavier, St Johns, BC, BU, simply because the local media play up Providence College big time and all of those games are big draws. With all the locals who have graduated from UNCC over the last thirty years, there should be more name recongnition than the school gets in the local media. It's about time the school had a functioning alumni association instead a bunch of people not making waves. Until the school starts using the clout that it has acquired over the years the dufi in the local media are going to continue to play up UNC state and even app state at the expense of this program. People here love to poke fun at Gastonia, but at least Abbey gets better press coverage in the Gazette than UNCC gets in the Observer. That is a shame.

The Salisbury Post does a good job of covering Catawba and Livingstone too.

 The A-10 has a great TV contract up here in the Northeast. I get games on New England Sports Network, Madison Square Garden, Fox Sports New York, Fox Sports New England and the occaisonal game on the UPN, WB stations. Yeah the A-10 is David to the the Big East's Goliath but there is still respect for the A-10. Especially since the A-10 was on par with them back in the late 90s when UMASS, URI, Temple, and GW were at their best.

We need to get the A10 network games on Fox Sports South or Bob Johnson's new station.

According to this, A-10 was higher than C-USA in 2001 and 2002.
