Larry- we are talking about losing weight here not selling our children :)

No way you need to lose 62 lbs.

OK, I'm 'fessing up. I've put on about 20 pounds in the past year. But I'm not so concerned about pounds as I am about measurements, how my clothes fit, overall fitness. Muscle does weigh more than fat, & I want to build muscle.

Ideally, I'd like to get back to being comfortable in size 10 pants rather than cramped in 14s.

And Larry's absolutely right. You gotta have a routine, or you can't stick it out. So I intend to make lifestyle changes--but not overwhelm myself & get discouraged by trying to do everything at once.

    For now:

Cut the sodas & drink more water.

Eat at regular times every day, take time to really enjoy what I eat, & eat BETTER stuff. My big problem with food is eating on the run & grabbing whatever's handy--usually junk. And I'll not punish myself by denying myself things I really love completely, but I'll limit how much I allow myself & how often.

Get into the habit of doing ab exercises every day. I know they say aerobics is better, but I'll save that goal for later. There are damn few aerobic activities I enjoy & will stick with. Easier for me to start with something I don't mind, that doesn't take long, & that does have real benefit.

Once these habits are established, I'll look at changing more.

    :applause: Kitten! Sounds great!

I cheated and got on the scales this morning. I'm down 5 pounds which is probably water weight. I don't really care as long as it motivates me.

I'm doing the water thing too. All whole grains, veggies and fruits. So far, so good.

Put me down for about fifty pounds. I think I gained more weight while my wife was pregnant than she did :(

I am 190. Need to get to 175 ideally. 180 would work have the old 20 year reunion coming up later this year need to look trim as my weight was only 125 in 1985.
