Osbournes vs. Ted Nugent

Veteran rocker Ted Nugent is best known for his song "Cat Scratch Fever." But now he may be better known for starting a cat fight. In the papers, Nugent fired the first shot against TV's first family, the Osbournes. Now the gloves are off as the two sides sound off.

"I think the show is an absolute pathetic train wreck. I find no redeeming value of out-of-control and undisciplined children swearing back at their parents," said Nugent.

When asked about Nugent's comments regarding the show, Kelly Osbourne told Access: "He's a motherf----r. He's just a jealous motherf----r who stays in a log cabin and kills animals."

With his claws out, Ted also took a swipe at the show's runaway success: "The success of the Osbournes as a TV show is an indictment to the soullessness of a segment of our society. I think the Osbournes are out of control, and if people find that entertaining then I find that a damn shame."

Ozzy and his brood are firing back. During a press conference, Sharon said Nugent, a hunting enthusiast and pro-gun advocate, should go back to "the f-----g sausage factory." Ozzy was more diplomatic, saying: "You know what? I think a lot of it is jealousy. If Ted Nugent has an opinion then fineā€¦ I don't agree about the way he kills wildlife for no reason at all, but I don't spout off at him."

Despite Ted's aversion to the show, the Osbournes are cashing in. MTV has officially announced that the family has signed on for a second season, and one might call the deal "Ozzy Inc." The new 20-episode deal was signed on May 29; it's valued by MTV at $5 million to $7 million and at more than $20 million by the Osbournes' representatives.

But the deal didn't come easy. According to the New York Times, during the negotiations the Osbournes used three different agents, and things got so bad that the Osbournes almost left MTV and headed to one of the major networks. Some of the "Ozzy-type" demands included a new house, lifetime psychotherapy for the family's herd of cats and dogs, selling episodes to local stations in the fall of 2004 and the right to create new episodes from outtakes. Fans can rest easy, however: all parties did finally sign, with Ozzy using his real name, John Michael Osbourne.

I gotta give props to Ozzy. He has kept his marriage intact where as most musicians have had about 50 different wives and 20 kids. Granted he probably isn't the best dad but at least he's not a dead beat dad that you read in the paper.

Did anyone see Kelly perform Papa Don't Preach? Am I the only one thought it was pretty good. I actually enjoyed the song.
