I know most of you guys are BCS proponents, but I think its very unfair. So does TCU deserve a shot at the title? I say yes. They have beaten a couple darn good teams.

They're undefeated, I'll give them that but are they Top 6? I doubt it. A 3 point victory at Arizona and surviving the Houston shootout convince me. The Frogs have 4 of their 6 C-USA wins by only a field goal too. Still if you're undefeated, I think they deserve a "good" bowl game.

Who are the darn good teams? Their SOS is currently 85. The highest ranked team they have beat is 25. I for one don't agree with the BCS, I think we should have a playoff system, using the current bowl games.

Now I think they should get a good bowl like HP says and some credit for being undefeated but they just gotta beat a top tier team or two first.

Unfortunately we'll never know. Without a playoff system in place the small timers wont even get a shot. Heck, even when they're more than two big time schools with perfect (or the same) records........still somebody gets left out under this current BCS (bowl) format. Bill Curry said during the Clemson/FSU game Saturday night that these (regular season) games were all playoff games. I get tired of all these "bowl" appologists and their tired reasoning. Nobody else does it this way, only D1 football.

I don't think so. Even if we had a playoff, and I do think we should TCU SHOULD NOT be one of the teams invited. Louiville is the only decent team they faced, and UL would have won if they had a kicker.

They've squeeked by some crappy teams, and would get killed IMO.

well the Panthers have squeaked by bad teams too all season, luckily scoring margin in the NFL is irrelevant, or the Panthers would not be invited to the playoffs. I think a W is a W, regardless of score. They are a division 1A football team undeafeted and all the teams they beat were 1A. If playoffs existed, they would deserve to be in them. They can't help the fact that Zona sucked this year, and so did CUSA football. They beat 2 BCS teams (Vandy and Zona) and beat Navy who took Notre Dame to the wire. Yes their scedule sucked, but they still have won out.

To say UL "would" of won is not logical, they had all game to win.

This isn't the NFL, where parity runs rampant. This is Div-1A, and like it or not, the big schools still dominate.

Zona and Vandy are two BCS schools you can pretty much mail it in that they will suck, year in and out.

I don't want to see a good team left out of a playoff just so Oklahoma can blow out some CUSA school that walked through a cupcake schedule.

    I was just wondering......

If and when the NCAA decides to adopt a playoff format in D1, what criteria would they use to select the teams? Would they take only the top ranked teams? Top ranked teams from certain top ranked conferences? Would other D1 conferences be locked out due to strength of schedule issues? Should all conference winners be allowed in, then the at large selections ala March madness? Is there really a fair way to do all this?

But the major difference is the Panthers have beat some good teams and TCU hasn't.

The top 16 records with using SOS as tie breakers. Sure there would be teams saying they should be in there at 15 or 16, but that is a helluva lot better than saying you should be in the top 4 teams and not making it.

This would be fair for TCU and give them a chance even though a lessor program, but give them credit for being undefeated if they end up that way. Plus it could be tweaked some as well.
