Anyone know how to tell if you have become a diabetic? I have a strong family history of it so I know it is probably just a matter of time. I had my sugar checked a month or so ago and it was just 94. The last few days though I get really lethargic after I eat. I have been eating lots of christmas foods which have been sugary.

the thing that triggers most folks to go to the doctor is excessive thurst and peeing like a race horse. Later symptoms are weight loss and trouble with vision. The lethargy can come from many things.

Any family members have a glucometer? If so, check it once a month on their meter. Anything over 100-110 fasting and anything over 120 or so non-fasting may be a sign of trouble around the bend.

The 94 is fine. Just keep tabs on it. It's a matter of time for me too; strong family history on my dad's side.

Go to the doctor. There are symptoms, but they mirror other things also. Frequent urination is a symptom, but it's also a symptom of prostate problems. Just keep an eye on your sugar level. And talk to your doctor. Ask questions.

You need to cut down on your suger anyway.
