He'd be Herschiser's DADDY with both of them in their primes... the others it'd be hard to say he'd be better than, but I would say I could lump them all and not say one was more dominant than the others.

Apparently you missed the 1988 season.

Josh Beckett had a good postseason. Hershier went, 23-8 (15 complete games), did not allow a run for like 55 innings, pitched a group of scrubs to the playoffs, won 2 games in the LCS and saved another, won 2 games in the WS, won MVP of both series. Yeah - that's about the same.

The scoreless inning streak was 59.

If anything, Lasorda overused "bulldog" down the stretch and shortened his career.

Orel, besides being named after popcorn, and looking like Opie Taylor, all growed up, is a classic case of OCD. The guy takes about 7 showers per day.

I'd go with the Dodgers one two punch there for a while, IMO, best 2 pitchers EVER on a team, and yes, better than Johnson and Schilling.

    Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale.

Just for the sake of being a homer, I'm going with Johnson.

But to be perfectly honest, the two pitchers that are still active right now that I would be most scared to face would be him and Rocket.

Hideo Nomo before people stopped believing the hype... once hitters realized they could hit him they destroyed him... before that that psyched themselves out due to his "legend"

Fernando Valenzuela. But if Larry Brown wanted to, he could be the best pitcher in the league.

You certainly have a good argument, but don't forget Gibson and Carlton.
