    CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Marvin Williams gave North Carolina fans reason for excitement Friday night.

    The 6-foot-9 freshman had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the fourth-ranked Tar Heels' 100-69 exhibition win against Mount Olive. Williams went 8-for-9 from the floor and had several crowd-pleasing dunks.

    Sean May and Jawad Williams each added 15 points for North Carolina, which played without all-conference performer Rashad McCants. McCants sat out with a sore left shoulder.

    The Tar Heels' athleticism gave the Trojans fits, forcing 28 turnovers and holding them to 36 percent shooting.

    Elton Coffield scored 21 points and hit six 3-pointers to lead Mount Olive.

    The game was obviously a big deal for Mount Olive, a Division II program in the eastern part of the state. Before the game, the Trojans' starting five smiled and jumped around eagerly while waiting for the opening tip.

    A member of the Mount Olive bench even took pictures during the game.

    The Tar Heels got off to a slow start, missing their first four shots and committing four turnovers. But they soon put together a 17-0 run, beginning with a thunderous dunk from Marvin Williams on a drive from the right wing.

    He ended the spurt with a jumper from the right wing, giving the Tar Heels a 28-13 lead with 7:46 left in the half. Williams made all six of his shots in the half and had six rebounds.

    wow... someone that just made Dukey look smart. I hate to say it dude, but Dukey was being sarcastic and you didn't get it. Unfortunately for you, you now look really bad because that makes it look like Dukey is smarter than you at this moment. I feel bad for ya bud... gonna take a little while to live this one down.
