Can they extend him during the season or do they have to wait until this summer? Getting him resigned is going to be vital to the building process and maintaining some integrity with the fans.

 

The Bobcat's missed the signing deadline for this year, now they must wait until the end of the year. Report out is that Okafor turned down a great offer from the Cat's in hope of landing a deal much like Dwight Howard signed. I personally don't think that Okafor is worth that type of money, he needs to prove to be more of a scoring threat.......

 

He turned down $13 million per season to take a chance on a max contract. He won't get one, so he'll probably eventually accept the Bobcats offer.

 

If he stays healthy all year and keeps playing the way he has so far he might get a max deal. Injuries are his only really weakness. He is not a great scorer but he is adequate and great on defense and rebounding.

 

Last night showed he's really not in Dwight's league. Okafor's a good player, Dwight's just a beast.
