sgt peppers lonely hearts heart club band(reprise too)-beatles(6 years old under the headphones reading the lyrics on the living room floor)
drowning man-u2(a beautiful love song, a wedding song i believe)
Squonk-genesis(completely enthralled by the artistry and the lyrics)
    Beautiful day-u2(a great song)
i confess- the english beat(high school fun)
    domino-van morrison(bouncing on my folks bed when i'm 3)
flat earth-thomas dolby(the soundtrack to my first time)
wharf rat-midnight(by way of grateful dead)(when my mom died, this song just brought me to tears)
do it clean-echo and the bunnymen(the last song before heading out to do some carousing)
running to stand still-u2(a great song)
10:15 saturday night- the cure(tape was finally held together by tape and a prayer)
every picture tells a story-rod stewart(my favorite of my wife's favorite)
roundabout-yes(after i listened to the beatles, i listened to yes)
why you wanna treat me so bad-prince(just my favorite, prince is a muthafocker)
three days-janes addiction(a live experience beyond compare)
    surrender-u2(i just like it)
stories for boys-u2( in the beginning...)

undeniably, u2 has spoke more to me than any other band has ever come close to doing. i could easily make it a u2 compilation.

When i think of the songs that were playing during the "milestones" of my life one thing occurs to me. Pretty much all of them suck.. (the songs, not the milestones... although some of them suck too.)

I was worried there wasn't going to be at least one Dead song in there. I would have an aneurysm trying to make that compilation.

Yeah, no shit to both points Mags!!

Worse - how about me compulsively correcting him out loud in the movie theater when he botched the name of a Massive Attack song? My head's still spinning over that one.

    Larry:

"I got nothing to say I ain’t said before
I bled all I can, I won’t bleed no more
I don’t need no one to understand
    Why the blood run hold
    The hired hand
    On heart
    Hand of God
    Floodland and Driven Apart
    Run cold
    Turn
    Cold
    Burn
    Like a healing hand"

Did you know that Club La Vela in Panama City used to play that song as a DANCE track???

I think he's trying to get it all on one CD. It's a built-in mechanism to give each song more impact.

Not sure exactly what songs yet...but it's definitely ending in Sinatra's "My Way"
