Duke played so horrible in the first half. That was the worst shooting of the whole season in a half probably. What was it, 28% or 22%? They played pretty good D on UNC and UNC scored less points with Lawson. Nelson was a factor, he just wasn't one in the first half. He got back on track in the second half and did good going to the hole. I really think that Paulus has a green light if he is somewhat open from 3. He can flat out knock it down and when he shoots from 3 I think he it is going to go in everytime. I thought they kept Hansbrough in check pretty well, and Scheyer played well. The big X Factor for Duke is Singler. If he is on Duke is almost impossible to beat. If he's off Duke struggles a lot. I think that Duke (at least this group of players) gets too hyped up for UNC in Cameron and play like crap for the first 10 minutes or so. If Duke plays like they did in the second half I think they can beat anyone in the tournament. And when the refs swallowed their whistles in the second half, Duke was doing a lot better. It didn't matter much this game, but Zoubek really needs to learn how to go up somewhat strong. The fact that he doesn't dunk and shoots layups is beyond ridiculous when you are a 7 footer

Wow, that's painful to read. Pretty sure UNC had a lot to do with dook playing so bad in the first half.

Refs, pretty much didn't call fouls this game, but it was consistant for both teams, so no complaints on that one.

Dook had more problems than just Singler.

They hardly called any fouls in the second half but they called it a lot closer in the first half. UNC was in the 1 and 1 before the second T.V. Timeout but that wasn't why Duke lost. UNC got called for a lot more fouls in the first half to, but Duke wasn't hitting open shots. UNC defended the perimeter real well, and then on top of that Duke wasn't hitting open shots at all in the first half. They started knocking them down in the second half. I think Smith and Singler have hit a little bit of a wall. Nothing like Scheyer last year

so, you're saying that throwing the ball down to some ogre in the post that bulls his people around isn't punk ass? on top of that you whine when he doesn't get bailed out by the refs? that's funny.

i guess in football you think the colts are a bunch of pansies. run it down their throat. you'd be a good jerry richardson man.

recruiting shooters and spreading the floor is pretty smart to me. what isn't smart is duke not developing a big man to actually take pressure off of their shooters.

punk ass basketball, what a dumbass.

Yeah. Nothing I saw from UNC last night scares me in the least. Reality is they played about as good as they could and Duke had a case of cold shooting and unforced turnovers.

If a moral victory could possibly be earned in this series I'd say it was.

this was a tale of two halves, minus that horrid ending by the devils. credit the heels for finishing strong, great defense in the closing minutes, tenacious boards. despite all the talk about either teams flaws, we all knew it would be a tight game.

the thing i love about college hoops is that we still have more good basketball to look forward to, the acc tournament and the nccaa tournament. then, and only then, will the real pressure be applied.

this win was satisfying but will be long forgotten once the madness begins.

So what you are saying is that Duke did not want to win as much as Carolina ?

Oh yes, lets count those moral victories!!!!!!! LOL

The exact same thing could be said for the first game, what a homer. Hell, whats even worse the first game is that UNC outside shooters were even more wide open than dooks last night.

The best team won last night, plain and simple. UNC adjusted their game to play more of a halfcourt game and are playing a lot better D.

Unfortunately for dook they can't adjust to having an inside game that is worth a damn.

Yeah, UNCs D had nothing to do with that - wake up homer.

    Per ESPN :

    • Rejected nearly one-third of their 2-point field goals (15 blocked shots in 47 Duke attempts).

    • Forced 10 first-half turnovers from the ACC's best ballhandling team.

    • Limited the Blue Devils to 32.9 percent shooting on the night, their lowest percentage since November 2006 against Indiana. (They've played 55 games since then.) The Blue Devils missed 11 straight shots after taking that brief 68-66 lead, their first since they were up 3-0.
