    I can't speak for the motivations of all Carolina fans, but anyone who didn't think Duke was overrated prior to the Texas game was simply ignorant or dishonest. They absolutely did not look anything like a #1 team in most of their games this season. Being a Carolina fan doesn't affect that one way or another (and as noted, I hate State, I really don't care that much about Duke), and it doesn't mean that everyone who called Duke overrated thought they weren't better than UNC. In fact, I think most people not only admitted they appear to be much better than UNC, but also that they could improve during the course of the season and still win the national championship.

    So basically:
    Before Texas, Duke absolutely looked very overrated.
    Against Texas, Duke looked like the #1 team in the country.

    1st paragraph of your reply--my comments were not directed at you, so please don't feel as if they were.

    last 3 lines of your reply--nail on the head.

    I maintain that it is too early to say who is best. RIGHT NOW, Duke has the number 1 rank, and it doesn't bother me all that much. Number 1 after March is most important, no matter which team you pull for.

    Oh, and Dukey can still stfu.

    I will agree that the team that most looked like #1 before yesterday was probably Villanova, but like you said, Duke definitely is #1 right now

    Early in the season Duke has some close games, why does that surprise anyone? They are having to integrate some new players who are rookies that will cause you to stumble a bit. They are clearly the best team this year. By the end of the year they will be clicking on all cylinders and be the best team by far. Given the nature of college basketball the best team does not always win so who knows if they will win it all but all you haters need to lighten up on the over-rated crap.

    Don't all teams have to do this if they have Freshman coming in, or is this just some special dook excuse?
