Wesley is FA, Manning is RFA. Manning will leave, and we have no business matching a starting contract for him at that point. Drafting a guy in the middle rounds would give us a 4 that can compete for 3 in the 07 season.

this goes all the way back to the Deon Grant arguments. I don't have any belief that this team wants a true FS on the field. We're a zone safety team, 100%; I like Simpson, I like Bing, but I don't see them doing that. I would like someone around the 3rd, if we feel like doing that; we could use depth, but I don't believe the team's looking to replace Minter. If they are, long term, great, because I don't see him playing into, say, 2008.

Thanks for the insight...if thats the case, then I'll accept Rod Wright on my team next year

I wish they would go after a true FS, but I agree that the team apparently doesn't feel that it's a need. Anyone who did would have been screaming their head off at the idea of using Minter there (as I did). As for the guys in question, I'll take a second look at Huff and Bing but neither jumped out at me as cover guys. Then I simply didn't get to watch Simpson this year so I'm completely unqualified to speak on him.

even though he was horribly unimpressive against the one really good guard I saw him against, I'm expecting he'll go higher than us.
I like him, I'm just tired of getting burned one way or the other by under-performing Texas players.

I don't think it wouldn't matter if we had Tony Gonzales backing up Heath Miller. Dan Henning offences don't feature tight ends.

McCree is the best player we have right now for his position. We can bring him back cheap and I see no reason not to do that. I would not give him a big dollar contract though.

Having a better coverage safety would be nice but we played the run better than we ever have most of this season and I think having two strong safeties helped that a lot.

They might as well move Davis to linebacker. I get the feeling Spoon will be dong :( and we will have to play davis at WLB.

As usual, you're wrong. The games where we played the run well, the RBs rarely ever got to our safeties.

Got some stats on that? Got a quicktime file you want to link to here that proves your point? You seriously need to calm down a bit dude. You get way to worked up when someone disagrees with you about football. Don't hijack a plane or anything...
