That roster needs to include Spoon, McCree and Cartens. After that Eric Moulds would look great in a Panthers uni.

Re-signing McCree would mean still having Minter and McCree as the starters at safety. Did any of you even watch the game yesterday? The Seattle FD is still trying to put out our safeties.

Mcree hits hard but doesnt tackle well. he was burned yesterday. esp the play right at the goal line(one of the many) where he could have drilled the receiver to keep him from scoring

Considering he was supposed to backup and ST, I guess I shouldn't be too hard on him, but McCree was fucking terrible last night. I was on the fence about him but that was unacceptable, we need better starting out there.

It seems to me that our secondary lacks a certain amount of smarts that they jus aint got. It would be nice if McCree hand more going for him in the brain dept but he all too often looks like a dumbass out there. Minter is a smart guy but isn't he just too old to count on as a starter in the immediate future? Will Davis be bright enough to take over for Minter next year? I hope so and that's probably what our staff is banking on (not putting him at LB). Haven't seen enough of Davis yet to get a read on whether he will be smart enough (to help get some damn TEs covered for one thing). Lucas is a keeper and obviously we are invested in Gamble though he is too often capable of boneheadin' it (double move vulnerability for instance) but he should only get better. RMJ should be replaced in my opinion . . . aside from his miraculous first year he hasn't been consistent enough. Wesley = dumbass but his special teams play might keep him around (gee that sounds familiar huh)

Davis isn't particularly bright, no, but I'm all but sure that we're not going to keep him at safety anyway.

Most of our team looked silly in that game. I do not think it wise to let McCree walk based on that game. For the most part he played pretty well this past year. Starting off with two turn overs and only one first down for most of the first half will kill most any defense, especially against one of the best offenses in the league.

I'm not basing anything off just that game. If you paid attention you'd know that I've been saying this since pre-season. We can have McCree or Minter start at strong safety, but we cannot afford to have both of them back there. We covered for them most of the season by playing soft with our CBs, but it's too much of a coverage liability.

Collin, Magnus, WP...I would put this in a draft thread, but since the topic has come up in this one, what are the chances of us drafting a player like Ko Simpson or Darnell Bing (or even Michael Huff although I'm assuming he'll be gone by the 27th). Potentially they could be the BPA, and would actually put a free safety on the field...rather than two SS. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Ko Simpson is a FS and I think that Bing is, but I have been wrong before. I don't believe that a re-signing of McCree would prevent us from taking a potential free safety (although I realize that we could pick up a player in many different positions and still be just as happy). Hell, it is still even possible for Jimmy Williams to drop into our lap. Thoughts?
