Because the referee was afraid Oden would eat him.

Me, too. Xavier played kind of stupid down the stretch, especially after Oden went out. If they would've listened to me they would've owned the OT period. :artist:

Should have been for sure, but like Gott said, that shouldn't have mattered. The game was given away.

right, and if that's Tanner Hasbro instead of Oden, you're saying, "you don't make that call in that situation...blah, blah, blah..."

What fucking planet was Grant Wahl on when he saw the play?

    4. What are we to make of Greg Oden's hard foul against Xavier? First off, there's no way that an intentional or flagrant foul should have been called against Oden for his last-second takedown of Xavier's Justin Cage. For one thing, Oden was going for the ball, and two, it would have violated the spirit of the game for the referee to have such a big impact on the result. If Cage makes both free throws, Xavier wins. If Xavier fouls the Buckeyes before Ron Lewis can hit the equalizing three-pointer, then Xavier almost certainly wins. This one's on Xavier, not the referees or Oden.
    -------

No way? Bullfuckingshit. He wasn't going for the ball.

Plus, the "violated the spirit" bullshit is just a horrible argument. So, if I punch a guy in the face as he's going to the basket with two seconds left and the score tied or his team up two, that should not be called a flagrant because it would have a big impact on the game too? Then....because Xavier missed the freethrows, the foul should not have been called? Fucking pitiful.

Someone give the dude's column to Grid or VP.

Cage flopped big time. Oden's foul wasn't that hard, and it certainly wasn't flagrant.
