didn't we actually have another rb who came back from it in the early years. i think they are getting better at mf, and i have a really good feeling about SD making it back 100%. if he comes on at the end of the year like foster did when he was coming back it will fuck the shit out of some other fucking shit, and i really like that kind of story and i'll have a bunch of fucking warm fuzzies and deep smiles and shit while its happening and i'll feel one with the gods. so i really hope it happens.

damn though, 5-8 hours a day with your leg in a movement machine, jeeeze.

More years of 7 figure income at the end of the tunnel should help him through it.

I did do my own research, and was not able to find anything to support the notion that microfracture knee surgery has ended more careers than it has saved or to support the comment that Deshaun Foster is one of the few to have successful microfracture surgery. I'm satisfied.

I do agree that when it's determined that microfracutre should be used then its certainly not good. The recovery is long and grueling and past damage is extremely important in terms of recovery. How Davis will respond is anybodys guess right now.

Lastly, if someone makes a blanket statement such as "microfracture has ended more careers than it has saved", I certainly don't think it out of line to request the statement be backed up......the onus is not always on the one questioning the validity of such a strongly worded comment. Just my humble opinion.

sure it is, if you don't believe what someone says, it's certainly your prerogative to research and disprove it. Frankly, I really don't care if you believe it or not, the numbers are out there, so if you want proof, look for it. I'm satisfied with Terrell Davis, Jeffers, Jamal Mashburn, and any number of others who've ended careers after the surgery versus Foster and Allen Houston coming back from it.

I'm satisfied that it's a last resort, and the ones who return are extremely lucky. That's my opinion, and I can live with it. The procedure does seem to have a rising success rate, as the technology gets better, but I'll stand by my statement that to this point in time, it just hasn't brought that many guys back. I should clarify my earlier statement, it's not the surgery that's ended it careers, the surgery just gave them a slight chance to get back. Their careers were pretty much over to have to go with microfracture surgery.

No matter how you decide to look it, it certainly is not a good thing, period.

Please forgive me if I don't decide to post a list of players who have and have not come back from this surgery, I'm not going to change anyone's mind, and everyone here has access to google.

I'll also clarify that Foster is the only RUNNING BACK that I know of that has returned from microfracture successfully, which I believe I stated in the prior posts.

If Davis sees the field before week 8, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Once someone gets to the point where the best option is MF surgery they are pretty much fucked. It sounds like a last resort and if it works here and there its a useful procedure.

yeah, it helped Joe Montana have a normal life after football. It helped Dan Marino do the same, but I just don't think being able to walk without a limp is the same thing as cutting and running like an NFL running back.

it helped Jason Kidd, Dan Neil, Fred Lane

I just don't see why you are saying it ruins players when they are pretty much ruined to begin with.

Re-read, I clarified what I said, dipshot. I guess Fox didn't see the same offensive line you did last year either, huh. :umno:
