I believe you when you say that those games are superior, but to me, I just don't like playing games on a computer. That's why I appreciate Halo, it's a FPS on a console that is fun.

People who like playing games on their computer play all these games that are graphically superior, but they enjoy sitting in front of their computer screen and playing games with people in other places. Personally, I have more fun playing with my friends in the same house. We get together, get drunk and play halo. WE talk shit, etc. It's just not as fun doing that with computer games.

LAN parties are pretty cool, and give you the best of both worlds. I agree, they aren't as convenient, seeing as how you have to haul your rig over to someones house.

i'm waiting for the xbox doom 3. they don't have co-op on the PC and i just don't get a big kick out of playing that kind of game by myself. and 4 player DM doesn't really cut it for me either.

the xbox version of doom is/was actually a concurrent development, not a port so i guess that's how they squeezed all they could from the xbox (and how they justify co-op on one platform and not the other).

we've had a few lan parties recently. kinda a drag, but pretty cool getting a half dozen guys together for marathon gaming sessions. we keep fucking up the installs, tho. gotta figure out what we're gonna play before everybody shows up or it's "who's got disk #2?" for an hour or two.

Really? You got a link to this? I might have to buy it if that's true.

if which is true? the concurrent development? no, sorry. i remember reading that back when i was trying to determine if there was a co-op mode in doom.

poking around, it looks like the xbox version won't be coming out till spring of 2005. yikes. they apparently showed it off at e3, tho, so it's functional (and looks decent, tho not as good as the pc version). dunno what the hold-up is.

i plan on getting it on xbox for the co-op mode (assuming some clever hacker doesn't add it to the pc version first).

I'm hearing because they want it to look good on the xbox, which isnt as good as the PC's used to run the game. But with this game supposedly coming out next year it means the xbox will at least have a nice death unlike other consoles.
