November 9th is almost here!

Anyone else seen the commercials for Halo 2?

 

Been playing Halo 2 for about a week. It's fun, but I'm a trifle disappointed. Halo 2 has been built up to where it's supposed to be the game to end all games. It's almost a Halo expansion pack to me. Couple new weapons, a new campaign, and some new maps and vehicles. Base functionality is the same. Graphics are the basically the same, with some minor tweaks, but nothing impressive, especially after the graphics Mono Lisa that is Doom 3. What really disappointed me was the fact that it's still missing a basic functionality that most other FPS games (unreal, quake, tribes, et al) have, which is the ability to play multiplayer maps like CTF and Deathmatch and supplement the human opponents with AI opponents, so that you could have 8 on 8 games, as opposed to the lame 2 on 2 games that you end up with on Halo.

 

i heard 4 people can connect to live from one xbox..

regardless, i've had it preordered from ebgames for months. I got it shipped one day air and they ship it on the 8th..so I'll have it on the 9th hopefully..I better

 

Get another xbox and more friends.

 

Oh man, for a sec there, I thought you were talking about EQ2...

 

I got a hacked box, xbl dont work for me. Have to use xbc. At which point I'm limited to one or two boxes connecting, due to upstream bandwidth limitations.

 

I doubt it will meet all the expectations as it has been anticipated for what 2 years. No game could deliver probably. Either way I am ready/ Come the ninth I am in Media Play with my pre purchase receipt and killing me some mutants.

 

I just finished the campaign for Halo this week. Had the game about a year and have been mostly online play. I found the campaign to be rather dull after a while, basically just clearing out all the flood got boring about the 3rd time around...

 

thats because they reused levels, but backwards..that isnt going to happen in halo 2.

 

yeah, well, i'd be happy with just more levels in halo. really, there's not a whole lot they could add to the game for the xbox given that the graphics processor is the same one from the first go round. doom 3 may look nice on the PC, but how will it look on xbox?
