They are talking to the ACC and Big 10... looks like they may have realized that with their TV coverage suffering and their performance dropping there's a GOOD chance they could loose their assured BCS bid.

I would tell ND to beat it. They had their chance and now they want in? It will throw the league balance off.

Yeah, we would need another team AFTER ND, which would bring us to 14 teams. At what point are you "too big for your britches?"

    Probably not ACC.

CFBall is barking up the right tree though. I think Notre Dame has finally woken up and realized that when the next BCS contract comes around, there are going to be roughly 65 teams out there that are going to say "Go fuck yourself" instead of "Here, have a piece of this big ol' 14 million dollars that we've been giving you a shot at just because you are ND".

So, what all of this is about is ND wants to keep it's chance at that 14 million a year that a BCS team gets. If I'm any of the big 5 conferences now, I tell them to fuck off unless they join one of those conferences.

My money says Big 10 or Big East. Big 10 is the best fit, but the Big East is the easiest route to that 14 mil and the Big East is desperate enough to let them keep their NBC contract (if NBC still wants it). Plus it would save the Big East.

Anyway, I have $$$ riding on this with folks at work who swore ND would never join a conference. I want that $$$ badly because they all told me I was a dumbass and made the bet REALLY quickly around 6 months ago.

Notre dame will be lucky to just make a bowl if they join the acc.

they lose to FSU, Miami, Va tech, NCSU, Maryland, maybe GT, BC, UVA, Clemson.

That's why I'm thinking Big East. Most of the Big 10 has whooped that Irish ass this year too.

But I figure WVU, Pitt, Syracuse, Cinci, and L'ville? That says bowl every year to me.

Don't forget UConn also :) . . . . Yesssssssssssssss, if the Fathers at ND have a clue (or maybe God needs to lead them in this direction :) :) !!!!!!), they would realize the BIG EAST is the easier road to gaining a BCS bid . . I would rather go thru the BIG EAST (and only have to sweat Pitt & WVU) vs. BIG TEN (and lose sleep at over beating Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, PUrdue, Minnesota, Penn State, etc. every year)
