I downloaded XP2 last Monday evening, then my computer went out/crashed. When it came back on I had lost all my favorites, access to email and all secure websites. The slate had been "wiped clean," the computer had reverted back to exactly the way it was when I bought it(new), same operating system, etc., except Norton wasn't allowing access to secure sites. Disabling it allowed access to secure web sites, except email. Anyhow, Norton worked on it for four days, four different sessions, uninstalling & reinstalling, tweaking, and couldn't resolve the issue.

[I've since fired up my "old" Dell 4600C.]

Has anyone else had this problem?

Do you think it's safe to install/transfer my remaining Norton coverage to this computer? If so, how in the world do I contact Norton to do so, just call one of the tech's number that worked on the computer? I'd like to contact a real live business rep of the company, if at all possible.

I appreciate any and all feedback that I can get.

Yes. I downloaded SPs 2 & 3 some time ago. I didn't think that those were called XP, is why I downloaded this. I got it from the Windows Update site. [The messed up computer is not hooked up, so I can't check to be sure.]

Maybe I "overloaded" my system by downloading something that I already had?
I noticed that it didn't take very long to download, like the first two did, FWIW.:chris:
