Maybe, but if you are counting on Vinnie to morph into Mr. Execution, I think that your kind of settnig yourself up for failure.

he's the veteran option, definitely. They'll say that they wouldn't pick him up if they didn't feel like he could get the job done, but I really don't think Fox is much for starting a top pick rookie, much less an undrafted, unless it's necessary.

and he's been to the playoffs, and has tons of experience. That's a hell of a single stat to select.

David Carr-61 career TD's...67 career INT's. Why are we worried about Vinny's INTs'? The fact is, Vinny is about as good as they could have done 5 weeks into the season. If there is any QB that could come in and run this offense on such short notice (if he has to play Sunday) it's Vinny. That guy knows more about being an NFL QB than anybody on our roster, and probably more than anybody on our coaching staff.

What other stat would be a better indicator of whether or not he is likely to limit his mistakes?

BTW, Rex Grossman went to the Super Bowl. You want to discuss whether or not he is mistake prone?

the idea was whether he would make the stupid mistakes a rookie would make. And Grossman's a ridiculous example of anything, much less a playoff QB.

There was a time when Testaverde was more of an asset than detriment on the playing field. That time has passed, and he is not here for that anyway.
