Florida State basketball coach Leonard Hamilton is not letting up. Earlier this year RivalsHoops.com rated the Seminoles' 2004 recruiting class as tops in the nation. When the early signing period begins for men's basketball begins on November 12th FSU will start making a run at another outstanding recruiting class.

Swann is rated as the No. 5 shooting guard by Rivals.com.It looks like the first member of that class will be Isaiah Swann. The five-star guard gave a verbal commitment to the Seminoles on Monday morning.

"He picked FSU for a combination of reasons," Hargrave basketball coach Kevin Keatts told Warchant.com. "Number one is coach Hamilton and his staff. They have a good history of developing players and working at the next level. Also, there is an opportunity to play early, and he really likes the academic environment at FSU."

Last year at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va the Rivals.com No. 5 rated shooting guard averaged 17 points a game. The year before that at Magruder H.S. in Rockville, Md., he averaged 22 points, four rebounds, three assists and six steals per game. Currently he is enrolled at Hargrave Military Academy.

"He's a lot like Steve Francis, who used to play for Maryland," Keatts said. "He's a good combo guard that can do a lot of things on the floor."
Swann, who is currently rated 25th on the Rivals150, picked FSU over basketball powers Arizona and UConn.

Florida State also hopes to hear from Jason Rich this week. The four-star guard has narrowed his choices to FSU and Kentucky and has a tentative press press conference scheduled for Thursday at 2:30 PM.

Hamilton is getting it done in recruiting. Now, can he get it done on the court.

If he can get one or two more years of recruiting like he has been doing, the players he is putting on the court will take care of that part for him.

I hope he does good, this can only help the ACC's overall strength.

I'd agree that FSU has done well but lets be honest...

The recruits that FSU has brought in still don't touch those UNC or Duke have brought in considering this years and last years combined. They have done well but not ridiculously well like the two big dogs.

I don't know about that. I will have to see what happens. I honestly think FSU has done better than most realize. FSU doesn't get the hype that UNC or Dook with their recruiting, but I think a lot of people will be very surprised. If FSU had gotten Felton for example, there would a little hype but not as much as UNC getting him, but he is still the same player.

Agreed, it seems when UNC or Duke land a player it automatically gives them a little cred if not an outright bump in the rankings. FSU is landing some damn good players.

I'd agree with you two that sometimes a player will mysteriously move up in the rankings a bit after a huge school picks him up.

Wafer and Johnson are bigtime recruiting gets but I still personally would rather have UNCs class this year. Thats just my opinion and really FSU has taken a huge step up in recruiting basketball the last 2 seasons.

At worst I think they are 3rd in the ACC in recruiting.

I was talking last yr and this yr combined. UNC signed only 1 guy which is why I do this for comparision.

If you want to talk 1 year then UNCs class this year is much better than FSUs current 1 man class.

i'm talking about the incoming group of guys that will play this fall.

obviously, you can't compare the current class of recruits because the recruiting season isn't yet over.
