I liked it. As comic book movies go, it was very well done and pretty faithful to the source material, with the exception of the casting of Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson. Dunst is button-nose cute, but the MJ of the comics is a voluptuous bombshell. I suppose only geeks like me care about the difference. All in all, a winner... considering it could have ended up a stink-errific ass yam like the dreaded Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.

I saw it in a Korean movie theater... it was English with Korean subtitles.

This technique is a staple of comic book storytelling. In pseudo-soap-opera fashion, one storyline almost always sows the seeds of the next. In this way, the ending was true to the spirit of the original format.

i liked this one better than the first. mainly cuz i really, really hated the treatment of the green goblin. dude, he's the green goblin not ironman -- what's with the fucking power suit?

i liked the humor -- particularly the elevator scene. i thought it broke up the movie pretty well and kinda set the thing apart from more "serious" super hero flicks.

What power suit? The Goblin suit didn't have any power.

I enjoyed it. I thought the special effects were great and Doc Ock ruled!!! I just hope the villian for Spiderman 3 is not the one hinted to in the end.

    Bring on Venom!!!!

SPOILER --DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN!!:
I kinda think the Green Goblin will be one of the villians in the next movie, but not the only one. In the comics Harry Osborne does become the Green Goblin. I think that's sorta the side story that continues to run. I've heard Venom is a possibility due to them introducing John Jameson, but that has the potential to flop because he'd have to be 95% CGI. The Hulk turned me off to that quite a bit.

Was John Jameson Venom? I quit following the books around that time and I only remember JJ as Man-Wolf.

No but if you remember when John Jameson crash landed in the space shuttle and Spider-Man saved him that's when the space symbiote(sp?) that becomes Venom attaches to Spider-Man.

Venom is Eddie Brock and the goo from space combined. Also of note Eddie Brock had a SMALL walk-on scene in Spider-Man 2.

That's the one thing that I just can't stand about the series. I did like this one a lot better than the first, but I wish they had somebody else as Spiderman.
