    Rained all day in Boston.

Probably a good thing considering what happened last night. Give everyone more time to cool down.

Game 4 of ALCS postponed by rain
BOSTON (AP) – Rain caused Major League Baseball to postpone Game 4 of the AL championship series Sunday night between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.
The tarp never came off the infield at Fenway Park, and the announcement was made 50 minutes before the game was scheduled to start at 8:18 p.m.
“The field is in difficult condition right now, there’s been a lot of rain. This field doesn’t absorb rain real well,” said Sandy Alderson, executive vice president of baseball operations in the commissioner’s office.
“We did check the forecast, we’re going to have intermittent showers all night¼ Given the magnitude of this game and the importance of this series, we felt it was best to reschedule.”
The game was pushed back until 8:18 p.m. Monday, when Game 5 originally had been scheduled at Fenway Park. The fifth game was rescheduled for 4:18 p.m. Tuesday.
“It’s the right call. We walked the field. It’s not playable,” Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said.
New York leads the best-of-seven series 2-1. If a sixth game is needed, it would be played Wednesday as scheduled at Yankee Stadium – meaning there would not be an off day for travel.

This plays right into Boston's hands. They don't have to pitch Burkett now whom the Yankees own.The knuckle baller Wakefield will now start game 4 and Lowe game 5 at Fenway. The Yankees will still stick to their regular rotation and pitch Wells in game 4.The rain was a huge break for the Red Sox....they were facing a 3-1 deficit with Burkett going for them tonight. Now they can skip Burkett in the rotation......maybe the curse is lifting!

The entire outfield was uncovered all day and it's still drizzling out. No way they would be able to get the field in condition to play at a reasonable time.

And like K-Town said that is great news for the Sox. Pushes back a potential Burkette start until Game 6, allows Lowe to pitch at Fenway where he is 10x better than on the road. Like the Marlins-Cubs series I see this one going back to New York, hopefully with the Yankees down a game
