I don't see it that way, at all. I was sick of him for the last four years he was at State. (here's where the outsiders come with the "he took you to the sweet 16"). It was time for a change. Period.

 

Like I said, State fans got greedy and grew tired of being UNC and Dukes whipping boy. Herb had you in the Sweet 16 and now where are you? Herb has a top 20 team. What is State ranked? State kicked Herb to the curb our of Heel/Duke envy and it was a bad idea. State thought they were big enough to get a hot head coach and we all know how that ended.

 

You didn't hear the part about Herb being better off? Why do you want to make it all about NC State?

 

Totally AGREE with that......But Why should I be patient??? The HC took over a program that had been to 5 straight NCAA's. The previous coach took over a program that had been to like 5 straight ACC play in games....BIG DIFFERENCE. I was "patient" then because I knew what he had inherited......Well this coach got a program that was stable. More stable apparently than many of my fellow Wolfpackers thought. As far as being Duke and UNC's "whipping boy.....Has THAT changed and the entire country is their whipping boy so that never flushed with me....... Enough on this, but if there is "excitement" in the Wolfpack basketball then I'm a short necked giraffe.....Hell we were wondering on PP if we could actually handle ECU again this year AFTER losing to them last year with a first rd draft pick in the line up. Now THATS exciting. .....I'm DONE just had to VENT.

And if Sid is the guy I'll be the first to say I WAS WRONG..... Just as I did in Herbs 5th year when I was wanting a change......BUT had we had a coach come in in Herbs 6th year and take us to 5 straight NCAA's and 1 sweet 16...We would have thought we had something. And would have REALLY been excited. ...BUT since it was Herb the first 5 years are always brought up. I WAS WRONG about Herb and IF Sid is much better than I think right now....I'll be the first one here eating crow...... Hope I do.

Why would he? I don't think anybody else was knocking at his door trying to lure him away.

 

He wouldn't, which kinda proves my point. It was all about NC State and it's desire to be the Tar Heels and Duke. Nevermind the fact the school had a Sweet 16 coach. State thought it could get a top tier coach like Calipari but the school got Beamerized.
