I love all those movies from the 80's because when I was a kid they scared the heck out of me. It's hard to find anything that will scare you like that as an adult, but I always convince myself somehow the remakes will do it all over again.

I was thinking it didn't really matter until I saw a commercial last night and heard the voice. The first time I heard his voice it didn't even occur to me that it was supposed to be Freddy.
One recent movie that scared me was the original Scream. I think seeing people get killed in broad daylight and not just out in the middle of the woods freaked me out.

I was raised on the old 80's horror flicks and I laughed at them. The only one that gave me a nightmare was The Puppet Master. Blade frightened me for some reason.

The remakes (or any horror movies) that have been coming out lately have sucked. I don't see this one as being any different!

One, two, Freddy's coming for you
Three, four better lock your door,
    Five, Six grab a crucifix
Seven, Eight better stay up late,
    Nine, ten never sleep again

Here's a couple of trailers - the producer is Michael Bay - I wonder if he'll (Freddy) turn into a transformer. Looks terrible. And Freddy SOUNDS like Batman in The Dark Knight movie. Lame. :N1Imgoingtostay:

70's. Two movies scared the shit out of me when I was a kid:

The Omen and Halloween. The Omen remake was awesome.

Yep, Halloween was '78. Saw it in a drive-in of all places. Come to think of it, I saw the original Omen at the same drive-in in '76 or '77. Loved that movie.

Horror movies at the drive-in kicked ass.

The original Halloween was the only slasher that really scared me. The priest getting impaled and the photographer beheading in The Omen are some of my all time faves.

Love most of John Carpenter's 80's-90's shit - and it is all shit after Prince of Darkness - but I still love it.
