Well, they already made a terrible remake of Friday the 13th, and 2 terrible remakes of Halloween (which is a crime). A total of 4 people have seen these remakes. No ideas left in Hollywood.

There will never be another Freddy besides Robert Englund.

I don't get horror movies, I still think the only horror movie I've ever seen that actually scared me was the Exorcist, and that was when I was 14 years old. There's still a few decent ones if the plot is not just a gorefest and it's suspenseful, but there's nothing scary about them.

I kind of agree. I'm not a fan of horror movies that are just gore fests and other horror series tend to become comical over time. That's what happened with the Nightmare series. The first one, however, scared the crap out of me.

Yep, the original NOES and Halloween were good with NOES being my favorite of the '80's horror stuff.

Suspense is what makes a good horror movie. It's a hella lot scarier "not" seeing something. One of my favorite "horror" scenes in recent movies was in "The Dark Knight" with the Joker and the pencil. That was horrific without showing a damn thing. The torture porn horror of today just sucks monkey balls, yeah, I'm looking at you "Saw."
