I don't think anyone is. A few guys have said drop Winky now, but the most including myself are just excited to have a guy that "appears" to be a legitimate challenge for Winky if not now maybe during the season. Most fans (except me :)) were never comfortable with Lewis and Craig as backups.

I think the general idea is now... more people feel safer with our backups .

The sad thing is, that if Fasani comes out this weekend and does poorly with what may be the 3rd team, then people will say, see I told you it was a fluke. Thats what sucks about the system.

Well, it’s not quite as bad as the Goings/Barlow comment, which was ludicrous and I believe made up by the journalist.

It’s a bit hard to believe they had Fasani over say Ramsey, whose stock rose, though one could argue they disliked him for his style or were not paying attention to QBs in workouts, e.g., just study tape. We never looked at Harrington in a workout, just an interview, which is why I knew we never considered drafting him.

But past Ramsey, were there really anyone you could separate from Fasani? No. Not Kittner, who lacks the arm strength to do anything at this level, or Gerrard, who was never very consistent. . I could believe rating Fasani the best of the second tier is very credible. A lot of very similar prospects.

On a side note, Peete can scramble. Scramble and throw, maybe not, but scramble, yeah.

I would like to see him get opportunities during the regular season when we are either ahead by a bunch or losing by a bunch. He does have the ability to ignite a team from the looks of the Redskin game. In other words I hope he impresses the staff enough to insert him into a game without hesitation albeit one in which the game is not very close.

I think I can settle into that thought... Afterall, if your into "stats" Panther QBs have a history of doing better when they are the starter for the first regular season game, when they were not the intended starter going into camp. - I think.

Well, it also seems MOST qb's don't start all 16 games. They just get smacked around too much.

One of the 2 backups will have to start. Hard to say who'll be better - we haven't seen Peete yet. But unless we're in the unlikely situation of being playoff contenders - when wienke can't start - I'd prefer Fasani. Even if we're in contention for a playoff berth - I still lean to Fasani.

Hell - Peete hasn't started in 4 years. How much better can he be?

Consistency. Dallas will be interesting for Fasani, Foster, Bright, Howard, Witherspoon, and maybe even Vinson.

Ya'll knew Dante Wesley was out for 4 weeks, right? Hernia.

Not only that but he has only played in 4 games the last 3 years. I got nothing against this guy, never really followed him... just seems like a lot of time for the ole rust to settle in...
