Well, he can count on his electric/gas bill going down cause that fucker will heat a 2000 sq ft house!

Have we really progressed this far to where TWO powerful GPU's are needed?

I still believe that hard drive access times/speeds are the weakness. Have been for a long time.

    Nice find, Harry!

When PCI Express 16x finally rears its head, and DDR2 becomes more affordable, I'll build a new system.

My shit works fine right now.

poo on MSI. I'll take an Intel board (I think it's the D925?) or an ASUS.

    Yup...here it is.

    http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/bc2/index.htm

Intel® Desktop Board D925XEBC2 supports Intel® Pentium 4 processors (LGA775) and features PCI Express* x16, DDR2 memory, Intel® Matrix Storage Technology, Gigabit LAN, and Intel® High Definition Audio for your extreme performance needs.

This is the board I'll probably end up buying.

Umm, that's not an SLI board. And FWIW, Intel boards are way overpriced. MSI is also one of the best board makers in the world.

And BTW, screw Intel right now. Athlon 64 is faster, cheaper, and this particular nForce4 (AMD only) has a Creative sound chip onboard. First time this has ever happened.

I dabbled in AMD for a few years, using a variety of boards and mainly the VIA chipset.

I found the to be obnoxiously loud, ran WAY too hot, and just all around unstable. All that said, Im not one into big overclocking, tweaking, or modding anything.

I look for out-of-the-box stability, and Intel has provided me that for the past....well, since P4's inception. I had a 1.7, 1.8, and a 2.0GHz now for a couple of years.

Whether or not AMD has matured at all, Im not one to argue, because I cant give a reliable judgement.
