Jets at home against Indy, GB at home against Atlanta, Pitt at home against the Browns, and the Niners at home against the Giants.

I can't really check much here at work, is there any chance that any of the road teams might win? I'm thinking maybe the only team with a shot is the Giants at SF, but doesn't GB have some injury problems?

The lines are Jets by 6, GB by 7, Pitt by 7.5, and SF by 3.5.

If you were going to bet, who would you take?

Pack, with the points. San Fran, with the points. Cleveland is a dog, who I think will win outright. I think the Jets win, but I don’t think they will cover.

Piper, why do you think Cleveland will win outright? I figure them to have the least chance to win. You think Holcomb will come up big in a playoff game? I think they'll choke. I hope they win, but I think they'll choke.

I think my best bet is Green Bay. I'm still trying to decide if the Jets are for real.

One, Bettis is out. Two, Cleveland played them tough twice, losing by three points. Hard to win against a team 3 times. Three, they are better now, with Green playing well the last few games. Four, Holcombe did play well this season in his opportunities and did beat the Birds. Five, the Pitt choke factor.

    Prediction:

    Jets

    Falcons

    Steelers

    Giants

It's going to be a NY SB.
And I don't like either, but I think they're gonna get hot AND lucky.

Still, it scares me betting against the home team in the playoffs. I only need one team, so I'm gonna go with the Pack. It's supposed to be fairly cold up there too, so that should help them.

Oh, the closest “lock” is probably the Pack. That’s the one I’d choose.

I know I seem nuts, and I may be...
    BUT:

I hate Atlanta (I resect Vick), but I hate em.
But they are gonna surprise GB.
And I WANT green Bay to beat em, but I'm afraid the Falcons are gonna end their home field cold-streak.

I'd aslo take the Cleveland Oranges (release 2.0) to beat the Steelers, if the game wasn't at Ketchup Field.

Piper, I've heard Bettis looks good and will play. Regardless, I think Pitt will use the pass to facilitate the run.

In regard to Cleveland playing them tough twice - definitely on the scoreboard. The Steelers doubled them in yardage the one game, but almost lost. The Steelers "destroyed" the Texans with statistics, and lost the game.

Fully agreed on being hard to beat the same team three times in one season..

Holcomb is looking good - but the Steelers should throw him different looks on blitzes. That will be complicated with the fact that Kendrell Bell probably won't play, and Chad Scott probably won't be effective if he does.

What is the Pitt choke factor? Losing to New England? I do have concerns with Cowher - and would prefer to have Noll ANYTIME in the playoffs over stone-jaw Billy.

    Picks are:

Green Bay over Falcons - by 7

Jets over Colts - by 10

Steelers over Browns - by 6

    49'ers over Giants - by 7
