Not that the play or talent over there is all that good but Sporting News says that a Panther allocated player is doing well....

    Deke Cooper

Not as good as watching the Panthers lose week after week after week after week I bet.

    Wow.

"He has good size and raw skills, but he has been slow to develop until now. The 6-1, 215-pounder is physical and will deliver a big hit. He is also a vocal leader who plays the game with reckless abandon. But his range and ability to cover the middle of the field in the three-deep zone is what is most impressive about Cooper. "

"He led NFL Europe with four interceptions after six games. If he continues to improve his technique, Cooper has a legitimate chance of making the Panthers' roster by beating out Damien Richardson for the backup free safety spot behind Deon Grant."

So would that make the other Cooper backup Strong Safety?

    Guess so.

  6. Could be worse for Deke...

We could cut him and the Giants could pick him up...

He could play with that All-star QB, Kerry "Tom" Collins...

And Michael "I'm worth more than THAT!" Strahan...

And Tiki "shut your mouth" Barber...

And Jim "older than a fossil and just as flexible" Fassel...

And those cool uniforms! Well, nuff said...

    :p

  7. I saw Deke play last weekend on TV. Only thing that bothered me was he wore the #40! If he makes the team, he's NOT getting that number from Jarrod! I'll protest if he does!!!

And how relieved would that make him.

At least then he would have a shot at winning a few games.

Their seems to be alot of interest or intrigue about Deke Cooper. Kim has an insider with some of the NFLE players and I have asked her to try and set up an interview with Deke. I have complete confidence she will pull this off so start thinking about questions you would want her to ask him.

Cooper is one guy I would love to see get into the mix! I like Richardson, too, but he is never going to be anything but a STer. When Richardson is forced into the line-up, I get the jitters.

Cooper & Cooper would be an excellent back-up safety duo! Both bring the pain and Cooper (Ah, Deke), is a certified ballhawk! Heaven forbid Grant or Minter go down with a serious injury we actually have back-ups that can step in and not loose a great deal.

Plus, there is always a need for trade bait.
