NFC South Turmoil

Discussion in 'Carolina Panthers' started by meatpile, Jul 30, 2002.

  1. Brooks held out 1 whole day - big whoop.

Rookies signing are typical. - big whoop

Got new defensive players to replace older ones. - big whoop

    lost williams - big whoop.

Where's the turmoil in New Orleans? The only setback I know of is the suspension of Dale Carter. Defensive schemes are being re-worked.

Is this the game where Walls got ejected on some bullshit call? If we win that game we make it to the playoffs that year.

Saints - I don't see a whole lot of turmoil, but those things do add up.

Losing Joe Johnson, losing Glover, those do add up. Sorry, Grant won't be enough, and therefore anyone who's looking to do anything will doubleteam Howard v/s pass and Hand v/s run. They have no rush - they did, and that got them by when all they had was a set of scrubs. Now they can't put together a set of scrubs - Mathis and Carter are now both gone from their list of "solutions" at corner.

They had a great first year. Having the guys they did, including Bunting, that helped a great deal. They're not as good along the OL this year. Same for DL. Same for DB. Same for RB. They're in flux at TE and WR, and Brooks struggled some last year against teams who have been able to understand what he does best and how to stop that.

I wouldn't call it turmoil, yet. But when the team doesn't play as well as it thinks it should, it'll be additive. They're very undertalented this year, and if they pull off a season better than 8-8 I might be surprised.
