I didn't say you were wrong. I just said that more efficient QB play would help. Now if the problem is that no QB on earth could be effective for us now than we have much bigger problems and that's a different subject.

I think you're continually arguing something different than what I'm saying. "twice as good" does not equal "we'd be a little better if Jake's numbers are a little better."

His line run blocks better, and gives up a little less interior pressure; they have the LT they started the season with, too. He has a running game, with two productive backs; he has two star WRs, a star TE, and a very good 2nd TE.

He also has more progressive coaching. And relatively little game film against him.

That doesn't excuse Jake, because I know the crying about how stating anything is wrong with Jake automatically gets people yelling up my rectum about it. Certainly, Jake's far from the only thing "wrong" and pretending this is a stellar offense full of 10 incredible players that always execute, being held back by Delhomme, is really, really, really wrong.

Same problems that have gotten him since 2000.

IMHO, any exceptional performances we get out of the QB position (no matter who is behind center) will be just that -- exceptional -- until we get a decent QB coach. All the guys mentioned in this thread as being better than Jake (particularly the young guys) are so because they have good to fantastic QB coaching which is constantly keeping the polish on the players. That's something Fox has never made a priority, and it's showed.

Certainly Jake doesn't posses the arm of elite QBs, but he has enough to get the job done with a supporting cast. If we get the run game going, and take some pressure off Jake to convert 3rd and long, we will get the whole offense clicking again.

Jake has more than enough arm to get the job done...

...when he steps into his throws. :poke:
