Nice story by Leonard Laye today in the Observer on next season.

    The nitty-gritty:

Players Returning (7): Eddie Basden, Martin Iti, Brendan Plavich, Curtis Withers, Mitchell Baldwin, C.J. Pigford and Chris Sager
Players Lost (3): Demon Brown, Calvin Clemmons and Butter Johnson who accounted for 24.4 points (31 %), 11.1 rebounds (27 %), 6.5 assists (40 %) per game
Recruits (4): E.J. Drayton, 6-9, Colby Community College, Colby, KS; Leemire Goldwire, 6-0, Dwyer High School, Palm Beach Gardens, FL: Jerrell Lewis, 6-1, New Hampton Prep, New Hampton, NH; Chris Nance, 6-8, Redland Community College, El Reno, OK; Marcus Bennett (redshirt), 6-3, Schoolcraft Junior College, Livonia, MI
    * one extra scholarship is available

Schedule: Road Games (11): Davidson, Indiana, Valparaiso, Alabama Birmingham, East Carolina, Cincinnati, Louisville, Marquette, Saint Louis, South Florida, Tulane
Home Games (11): Alabama, Long Beach State, UNC Asheville, Cincinnati, DePaul, East Carolina, Houston, Memphis, Saint Louis, Southern Mississippi, Texas Christian
Note: Lutz promises less than the 14 road games played last season. Does that mean more home games or perhaps a neutral site tournament? The home-and-home set with Arizona, planned to begin next season in Charlotte, has fallen through. The contract for the games, set up by athletics directors Judy Rose of Charlotte and Jim Livengood of Arizona, was signed by the 49ers, in January 2003, but not by the Wildcats. :(

Are you the guy sniffing the sweaty clothes and jerking off inside his car after the games?

We could use two Eddies. Fuckers spent too much time on their civil engineering buildings and not enough time developing the genetic engineering.

I am glad we are looking foward to next year and everything, but I wish Lutz could have simply said we are going to be a lot better next year. Instead he said "just as good if not better." I would like to go past the first round of the tourney, so just as good won't be accaptable, even though this team had the potential to go farther than we did. It just sems his goals aren't the same as they were six years ago. I think the team will be better and very talented. Go niners!

If you wanna see past the first round of the tourney, you better buy tickets or watch it on tv.

We should be better than this past year's team, but making it past the sweet sixteen might be easier, but topping a regular season schedule/record might be harder. We had one of the best regular seasons in a long time this year, which is why the post-season was such a dissappointment. We'll be OK. I predict a better post-season next year, and an equal or worse regular season next year. We're back for at least a couple of years IMHO.
